So as I’m getting ready for the release of Xenoblade Chronicles 3, I’ve been re-reading my reviews of the previous Xenoblade games. To be honest, I’m not quite satisfied with how I’ve reviewed them. I try to lump together all of my thoughts into one post and it ends up being a novel long, and I still don’t talk about all of the things I wanted to say in those posts.
I realized I have this problem with reviewing other games as well, like Shin Megami Tensei V and Metroid Dread. I want to get into the gritty details without overwhelming the reader. I don’t want to just skim over games that are important to me with vague statements.

I order to actually accomplish this with the writing that these games truly deserve, I’m going to divide up the reviews for some of the games I play. Xenoblade Chronicles 3 will probably be the first one I’ll do this with. I plan on making the first part of my review spoiler-free where I focus on the gameplay. The second part of my review will discuss the story and its themes, and that’s probably where I’ll include spoilers.
I forsee many JRPGs getting this sort of treatment, though other games that I feel are complex enough that just one post can’t do them justice will probably get divided up as well.
Thanks for understanding! I can’t wait to see what Xenoblade Chronicles 3 has in store for us!
